Hardware Requirements

Processor

  • 1.6 GHz or faster dual-core minimum.

  • 2.2 GHz dual-core recommended

RAM

  • 8GB available RAM or higher (16GB recommended)

Storage

  • Minimum 50GB available

Operating System

  • Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 64-bit

Important Information

Processor

  • ARM Processors are unsupported.

  • Intel Celeron series processors are unsupported.

  • Intel Core Ultra series processors are supported.

  • Processors must be x64 and support the SSE4.1 instruction set.

Operating System

  • Starter, Basic, RT and 32-bit operating systems are unsupported. The Operating System must be fully licensed.

  • Roaming profiles must be accessed locally upon login.

  • MacOS and Linux are unsupported.

Integrations

Microsoft

LEAP Integrates with Microsoft 365 subscriptions that includes desktop versions of Office applications for PC. LEAP recommends Microsoft 365 Business Standard.

  • Non subscription-based versions of Office are not supported.

  • Home editions are not supported.

  • Multiple or cross versions of applications are not supported.

  • 32-bit Microsoft Office is not supported

Email

  • Exchange Online account as part of a Microsoft 365 subscription

  • To use shared inboxes ‘Download shared folders’ needs to be enabled in the Cached Exchange Mode Settings of Outlook.

  • The 'new Outlook' is supported only for the LEAP for Outlook add-in.
    NOTE: not all functionality available in legacy Outlook is available in the LEAP for Outlook add-in.

365 Calendar & Tasks

365 Advanced Outlook Calendaring integration requires a valid Exchange Online account as part of a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Microsoft Teams

Teams app requires a Microsoft 365 account with the appropriate license plan.

LEAP recommends:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard

'Classic Teams' is no longer supported.

Power BI

The LEAP Connector for Microsoft Power BI will require the following:

  • A LEAP Admin user account

  • A Microsoft Power BI Pro or Premium subscription for each LEAP Admin user that will be using the LEAP Connector

  • A minimum 16GB of RAM, 32GB preferred

  • The latest version of Microsoft Power BI Desktop (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/downloads)

Microsoft Power BI Free is not supported by LEAP.

Microsoft Power BI Pro or Premium ‘limited trial’ subscriptions are supported.

General Ledger

  • MYOB AccountRight Plus/Premier

  • MYOB Business Lite/Pro

  • Xero

Only online Company Files are supported.

PDF

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Pro DC for PDF documents only.

  • The ‘New Adobe’ layout is not supported for free Acrobat Reader

  • The 'New Adobe' layout is supported for paid Adobe subscriptions

Important Information

Office

  • Office 2013, 2016 and 2019 one-time purchase are unsupported.

  • Multiple installations of Office are unsupported. Office must be fully licensed.

  • Starter, RT, Home & Student, Business Essentials, Personal, Enterprise E1 & Home editions of Microsoft Office are unsupported.

  • IMAP is not supported

Apple Mac

LEAP does not run on Mac OS. A virtual Windows environment needs to be installed on your Mac device to run LEAP. Virtual solutions must meet or exceed the minimum hardware system requirements.

  • LEAP recommends Bootcamp over Parallels.

  • Apple M1 & M2 CPUs are unsupported.

Virtualisation

Any virtualisation must have allocated dedicated system resources that meet or exceed LEAP's hardware & OS system requirements. Performance on a virtual environment is the sole responsibility of the firm.

Screen Resolution

LEAP supports a minimum screen resolution of 1280x720.

Internet

Stable ADSL2+ or higher connection dependant on number of users.

LEAP requires a stable internet connection.

Antivirus/Firewall

LEAP executables and paths must be included on your antivirus and Firewall exclusions list. See antivirus article on LEAP community for details.

Mobile App

Device compatibility can be found on App Store or Google Play Store.

Important Information

Virtualisation

  • Terminal Servers, Remote Desktop (RDS) & Citrix environments are unsupported

  • All environments where users share an OS instance are unsupported

Internet

  • Proxy servers are unsupported.

Scanning

  • The ‘TWAIN – Scan a Document’ and ‘Scan to LEAP’ features are no longer supported.

  • Firms can still scan to email or shared folder locations from their Multifunction Devices.

  • There are several Third-Party vendors offering scanning solutions using the document uploader API, available via LEAP Marketplace.

3rd Party PM Software

  • Other practice management systems may cause interference with the operation of LEAP; these must be uninstalled prior to the installation of LEAP

Service Packs

  • LEAP recommends that all supported versions of Windows and Microsoft 365 have the latest software updates available under the 'General Availability Channel' service channel

  • Windows and Microsoft 365 versions under ‘Windows Insider Program’ are not recommended for use with LEAP

  • Windows N and S Editions are not supported
